The Sound Lounge Stage!
The Sound Lounge Stage will take place on the Friday and Saturday evenings of the festival, June 22nd and 23rd, from 7pm to 10pm. It will spring to life on the Live Fire Stage, which by day hosts cooking masterclasses by a wide range of expert chefs. The line-up for the Sound Lounge Stage across the two evenings at Black Deer is curated by music journalist and broadcaster Paul Sexton, a patron of the Sound Lounge known for his work for national and international newspapers and magazines, for BBC Radio 2 and elsewhere. He will present festival exclusive performances by an array of fast-rising names from the UK Americana and roots world.
The two nights of June 22nd and 23rd will see exciting and unique sets by such acclaimed British country artists as Liv Austen, including her irresistible singles ‘The Next Time’ and ‘Don’t Regret A Single One,’ and Megan O’Neill, with songs from her brand new debut solo album ‘Ghost Of You.’ Hannah White will show why her ‘Elephant Eye’ set — including ‘In It For Love,’ as featured on Radio 2 — is broadening her reputation as a rootsy songwriter of true depth, while husband and wife duo the Black Feathers will deliver their hugely engaging close harmony sound.
Liv and Megan in particular are two of my favourite UK Country acts so they are ones not to be missed! Both girls have got to the number one spot on the UK Country iTunes chart in the past and you can see why when you listen to their songwriting abilities.
